i - am the only daughter in the family. but am not the spoiled one. i love reading as much as sewing (^-^)v

ii - am married my best friend... heheheeeee.... i was introduced to hubby by Prof. Ridzwan. i was asked (actually) to work with hubby on our poster and banner (due to Tun Mahathir's visits, end of 2004 if am not mistaken) and so we become close friend. i love to hang out with him because we have a different interests and we love sharing and talking about it. in early 2005, we lost contact (but i still have his number and he got mine) for a while and mid 2005 we meet again. i was with my niece and nephew at that time, we went to watched Constantine and we were in a same theatre and he was sitting behind us (",)v. and i saw him, he saw me... ^0^ looks familiar but too shy to asked. after the movie, we went home, checked my phone and i got 2 miss called and 1 message from him..... (^-^) and the story goes..... love the moment and we treasured constantine so much... ahahks!! anddd to my surprise his sister happened to married my 'uncle'!! .... jodoh kan ^0^

iii - hhhhmmmm... what else do you want to know about me... normally when people ask about my details, i will tell that am from tawau. i have 3 older brothers (2 of them passed away) and 2 younger brothers. i work with seaweed project for almost 7 years now, and i took my degree at UMS and graduated in 2001 in Banking and Finance. and i love my friends so much!!! (^0~)v there you goes.... heheeeee....

iv - i miss my 'class of 95' (Convent St. Ursula Secondary School) so much!!

v - i love every moment with hubby!!

vi - i don't really tell people much about myself because i love to hear theirs first!!

while busy taking photos along the market, i spotted this stall. it's attracted me. this two ladies selling seaweed. fyi, i work with seaweed project for more than 6 years now and we are funded by Ministry of Rural Malaysia under the hardcore poor project to develop the project along with Sabah Fisheries Department and Malaysia Fish Development Board (LKIM Sabah). we've been doing R&D and culturing seaweed to help the hardcore poor people in Pulau Banggi, Kudat especially and Malaysia generally. and i was so happy to see people actually selling our product in the market.

FYI, seaweed contains carrageenan ~~ eucheuma cottoni or kappaphycus alverazii and eucheuma spynosum ~~ used in every products e.g. cosmetics, foods, pharmaceuticals and so forth. do yo know why ice cream took a while to melt every time you take it out from the fridge? do you know why the milk powder are blend nicely with water? do you know why our lipstick stick? yes, it is because of the carrageenan. carrageenan use in every single product that we consumed including our compact powder, lipstick, eye liner, blusher etc...etc...because it can bind and stabilize all the ingredient used in producing the products. we can also eat it raw. the seaweed centents are ash, zink, fibre, magnesium, carbohydrate, protein, calcium, ion and good for pregnant lady because it has folic acid.

UMS has been producing lots of products using seaweed and the most well-known products are chocolate with seaweed filling and seaweed cracker. oh ya, seaweed also has anti-oxidant and collagen!! there you go ladies... ^0^ and some people call it "seawater bird nest" because of its similarity to bird nest texture.

japanese eat more than 50% seaweed in their meals everyday, and it's been a substitute for other vegetables. do you know why turtles can live up to 100 years old? ah ha!!! yes, because they ate seaweed...

4. Masakan mama n mama mertua ~~ sedap!!!

This photo was taken last March 2007. We went for white water rafting at Sungai Padas, Beufort, Sabah. It was really exciting and the most challenging experience I've ever had. There are 6 of us and we've been planning this trip since January 2007. We paid about RM150.00 per person (we got special offer) for the whole trip, includes the certificate. It was very adventurous!! The agent provide us a bus from KK to Beufort. It took about 1 and half hour journey and then we continue by train (it was an old train, very slow....) about 40 minutes to reach the rural area. I was afraid I'm gonna drown in the river because all my friends are planning to 'drown' me (bad...bad...bad...). Lucky me, my angels worked extra hard that day...heeee... Here are some photos taken during the venture....




















and....this is me having my papayas....hhhmmmmmm.... ^-^



After the tiring rafting, we had a shower (kampung-kampung punya style...); had our delicious lunch (bbq-ed lamb and chicken wings, rice, mix vege, fruits and cold drinks)....and by 2pm, we headed for another journey back to KK. We reached KK at about 7pm.

i lOVe mY vIEws...

salam and hello there....i took these pictures of my office last week...every time i open my door, i will enjoy this view (picture below)... ~~ as you can read from my profile, am working as a research officer (RO) for seaweed project at BMRI, UMS for almost 6 years now. each ROs and postgraduate students will be given a room. each room occupied by 4-8 ROs or students ~~ the best thing for being part of BMRI, we can do our work as much as can enjoy our natural environment (sea and trees)!!



this is located in the middle of the labs and ROs building....








this one is also in front of my room....a cat used to sit under this tree, waiting for a bird to catch....



and this little fellow.....he's mummymiza's older son, uci.... i asked him to smile, he gave me this pose instead...
